Professional baseball LG Twins signed a contract with left-handed pitcher Cha Woo-chan (34).

LG announced on the 3rd that it signed a contract with Cha Woo-chan, a free agent (FA), for two years and a total amount of 2 billion won. The contract details are an annual salary of 300 million won and an annual incentive of 700 million won.

Cha Woo-chan, who struggled with shoulder pain last year, must overcome it with his skills to get more money than the guaranteed amount.

Cha Woo-chan graduated from Gunsan Commercial High School and made her professional debut at Samsung Lions in 2006. In 2017, he obtained his first FA qualification and transferred to LG.

As a result, only two pitchers left-handed Yu Hee-kwan and right-handed Lee Yong-chan remain.

Cha Woo-chan promised, “I am sincerely sorry to the fans that the contract will be delayed. As the joining of the camp is a little late, I will prepare harder and show a good appearance. Thank you to the fans and the club for waiting for a while.”

“Cha Woo-chan is an ace of our team, and is a senior model for juniors with a sincere attitude,” said Cha Myung-seok, head of LG.

Meanwhile, Cha Woo-chan, who joined Samsung Lions in 2006, had a career of 110 wins and 78 losses, 1 save and 32 holds, and an average ERA of 4.50 until last year.

At the end of 2016, he got a free agent qualification and stamped a total of 9.5 billion won over four years, including 5.5 billion won in down payment and 1 billion won annually.

For four years at LG, Cha Woo-chan recorded 40-30 losses and an average ERA of 4.62.
