LG Electronics’ rollable phone (LG Rollable), which has been selected as one of CES’s biggest concerns this year, has shown its outline. The time it was released through the video was short, but the attention was highest.
At the’CES 2021 Opening Event’ held online on the 11th by LG Electronics, its first rollerball phone, LG Rollable’s first physical and running appearance, was unveiled.
The LG Rollable Teaser is the second since last September’s’LG Wing’ public event.

The word “More to Explore” appeared on the folded roller screen. It implies that this product is related to the’Explorer Project’. The previously released’LG Wing’ is also the result of the Exploror project.
Also, the phrase’LG Rollable’ was engraved under it. This is the first time that LG Electronics has officially announced the name of the next rollable phone product.
According to the rollable smartphone emulator released by LG Electronics and Google, this product is 6.8 inches before the screen is unfolded and increases to 7.4 inches when unfolded. The industry predicts that the price will be around 2.4 million won, similar to that of the Samsung foldable phone, or about 200,000 won higher than that.
LG Electronics plans to introduce and officially release the LG Rollable through a separate public event in the first half of the year.
Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has already unveiled a prototype of a rollable phone in November last year, but the prospect is that LG Electronics will be the protagonist of the first commercialization.
It is noteworthy whether LG Electronics will be able to overcome its sluggishness by pushing its competitors out of the next-generation form factor competition for smartphones through rollable phones.
An industry insider said, “It is difficult to expect that the rollable phone will be a game changer in the smartphone market, but it will be able to prove LG Electronics’ excellent technology and confirm LG Electronics’ presence in the smartphone market.”
