As the computer system of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) was hacked, information about Celltrion’s COVID-19 treatment was leaked.

On the 22nd, Celltrion announced that it had received such a notice from EMA on the 22nd through a homepage announcement. Celltrion is in consultation with EMA in advance to apply for approval of the item for the Corona 19 treatment’Recyronazu’ (ingredient name Regdanvimap CT-P59). For this purpose, documents related to the state of Rekkirona were submitted to the EMA.

Celltrion explained that it was not a hacking attempt to steal information from Rekkirona. EMA identified the first hacking attempt on the 9th of last month and requested an investigation. On the 12th, it was announced that some data related to Corona 19 drugs and vaccines were leaked on the Internet during the cyber attack. It is reported that the US Modena, a developer of the Corona 19 vaccine, has suffered damage. US pharmaceutical company Pfizer and German Bioentech also announced that “there was illegal access to documents related to the Corona 19 vaccine jointly developed by the two companies” during the EMA cyber attack.

It was found that the personal information of patients participating in the Celltrion clinical trial was not leaked. An official from Celltrion said, “The patient’s personal information is not included in the documents submitted to EMA.”

Celltrion is closely monitoring the damage situation. The related situation is being monitored through the in-house online system. It is believed that no specific damage, such as a technology leak, has occurred.
