While the situation of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Korea is showing an uneasy trend, the number of new confirmed cases on the 5th is expected to be less than 400.
The number of new confirmed cases peaked on December 25 (1,240) last year and showed a gentle sedation. On the 4th, the previous day, 451 new confirmed cases occurred, and for the second day, 400 people continued.
According to the Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters (Bangdaebon) on the 5th, a total of 339 new confirmed cases were counted between 0:00 and 9:00 pm the previous day. There were 76 fewer than the 415 total at the same time the day before.
Considering the recent trend in which the number of confirmed cases has increased to only double digits after 9 pm, the number of new confirmed cases is expected to reach around 400 in the mid-to-late 300 range.
Starting from the 29th of last month, the number of new confirmed cases for the last week was 469 → 456 → 355 → 305 → 336 → 467 → 451, and an average of 406 occurred per day.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety will hold a final inspection committee at 10 am on that day and decide whether to conditionally license Celltrion’s Corona 19 antibody treatment’Rekironaju’. The results will be announced at the 2pm briefing on the same day.
The inspection committee decides whether to approve or not by synthesizing expert opinions, efficacy, effects, and recommendations for Rekirona. When a conditional approval decision is made, Rekironaju will be the first Corona 19 treatment in Korea. In the world, it is the third after multinational pharmaceutical companies Eli Lilly and Regeneron therapy.
