The service that allows you to search and cash out card points scattered across multiple card companies at once became a mess for dinner on weekends. Many users flock to mobile apps at once, causing a disability. Among users, there was a complaint that “waiting for connection is picking stars in the sky.”

According to industry sources on the 10th, the Credit Finance Association started a service that collectively viewed card points through the Credit Association’s card point integrated inquiry app, website, and KFTC account info app from 11 am on the 5th, and transferred to a desired account to withdraw money. . You can search for unused points only by going through the identity verification process. Each credit card company can calculate points at 1 won per point and transfer them to a specific account designated by the customer. In the meantime, in order to convert credit card companies’ points into cash, they had to access each card company’s website or mobile app to apply, but this inconvenience was improved.

However, the first weekend after the service was launched, from around 8 pm on this day, there was a situation in which the mobile app and homepage were not accessed. Even if the first screen was displayed, it took a long time to use the inquiry and account transfer service. Discontent broke out among users. One user said, “The service purpose is good, but the preparation seems to be insufficient.”

Earlier, on the first day of service on the 5th, the homepage was paralyzed. At the time, an official from the Credit Association said, “After the service was opened, public interest increased, and the operation was disrupted due to system overload,” and said, “This problem will not recur.”

Some say that convenience is insufficient. In principle, applications for direct deposit are processed immediately, but applications after 8 p.m. and some credit card companies such as Samsung, Citi, and Post Office are processed on the next business day. Hyundai Card’s M points cannot be converted into cash immediately due to the special nature of 1 won per 1.5 points. Some point out that it is inconvenient to use the corresponding monetization service only by converting M points to H coins on the Hyundai Card website.

According to the Financial Exchange Commission, card points accumulated by users in 2019 totaled 3,543 trillion won. Among them, the points that cannot be used are 1171 billion won. An official from the Financial Services Commission explained, “It is expected that the convenience of transactions will increase and the spare points can be converted into cash and used for consumption.”
