[서울=뉴스핌] Reporter Jeong Seung-won = As the government decided to announce a vaccine vaccination plan for a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) on the 28th, there is growing interest in the side effects of vaccines occurring overseas.
The quarantine authorities and experts pointed out that the vaccine should be vaccinated as the side effect rate of the vaccine is low and the effect of vaccination is greater than that of no vaccination.

◆ Vaccination starts in February…the rate of fatal side effects is 0.2%
The government announced a plan to vaccination against Corona 19 on the 28th, and plans to begin full-fledged vaccination from February.
There are five types of Corona 19 vaccines to be introduced in Korea: Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Janssen, Modena, and NovaVax.
Among them, AstraZenekawa, which has applied for permission from the government, is also expected to be the first to receive the Pfizer vaccine, which is known to be planning to apply for permission.
Accordingly, attention is also being paid to side effects that occurred in countries that received these vaccines first from abroad.
First of all, in the case of AstraZeneca vaccine, side effects of pain or swelling at the vaccination site have been reported.
This is a common side effect of vaccination and was also seen in the vaccines of Pfizer and Modena.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in the case of Pfizer, the side effects of the first vaccination were 4393 out of 1.89 million, or 0.2%.
However, among them, there were 21 cases of anaphylaxis, a serious side effect showing symptoms of acute shock, which was 1 per 100,000 population.
This is higher than the rate of side effects of the flu vaccine, which is 1 per million people, but it shows relatively high safety considering that the development period for the corona vaccine has been less than a year.
In addition, the corona vaccines showed side effects such as local reactions, fever, headache, and muscle pain. This is also a side effect of influenza vaccination and does not correspond to the level of side effects that should not be received.

◆ Government “Vaccine side effects, state compensation”, experts “benefit greater than side effects”
The government is planning to compensate the state in full in case of serious side effects caused by the COVID-19 vaccination.
President Moon Jae-in said at a New Year’s press conference held on the 18th, “I was very cautious when signing a vaccine introduction contract because of the side effects of the vaccine.” You don’t have to worry about it. If the side effects exceed the normal level, the government will compensate.”
The quarantine authorities are also monitoring adverse reactions while establishing a vaccination plan.
Jung Eun-kyung, head of the Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters, said, “(Overseas) we are collecting information on adverse reactions reported after vaccination has been conducted in earnest. We will continuously monitor (overseas vaccine side effects).”
The quarantine authorities will also come up with measures to monitor side effects when the vaccination plan is announced on the 28th.
Academia also argues that because of side effects, receiving vaccination is more beneficial than not receiving vaccination.
Kim Woo-joo, a professor of infectious medicine at Korea Daeguro Hospital, said, “When the benefits of vaccination are compared with the side effects damage, the vaccination needs to be large.” Side effects” he said.
