On the 22nd, the ruling Democratic Party and the Democratic Party will hold a policy meeting with associations related to information technology (IT) companies such as the Korea Startup Forum and the Korea Internet Enterprise Association with the intention of sharing the case of’win-win cooperation’. They tried to invite officials from platform companies, such as the People of Delivery, Naver, and Kakao, but the companies were confused by saying “it’s burdensome.”

On the 21st, an official from the Democratic Party said, “We decided to hold a policy discussion with the Korea Startup Forum and the Korea Internet Business Association through video,” and “We plan to share examples of companies that are practicing win-win cooperation in related industries and listen to difficulties.” The time is 4 p.m., and Lee Nak-yeon, the Democratic Party representative, and Kang Seong-cheon, the vice minister of the Small and Medium Venture Business Department, will attend.

The Democratic Party initially held a meeting with individual companies such as the People of Delivery, Naver, Kakao, and Riot Games. However, it is said that the companies refused because it could lead to a discussion on the corona benefit-sharing system pushed by the ruling party. It is said that the request to attend the policy meeting has acted as a pressure to participate in the benefit-sharing system.

An official from the Democratic Party who is promoting the meeting explained, “It was the purpose of hearing how private companies are doing win-win cooperation.”

Democratic Party CEO Lee Nak-yeon, raising the need for the Corona benefit-sharing system, said, “It is necessary to return the social benefits of industries and classes that have benefited from corona.” Afterwards, he aimed directly at platform companies, saying, “If platform companies and self-employed companies increase their profits through joint efforts, they will be able to share profits by increasing the self-employed’s margin rate or reducing fees.” Although the condition of voluntary participation was put forward, it was interpreted that it was pressured to participate in the company.

The Democratic Party was wary of expanding interpretation, but it is an analysis that this time, it was not unrelated to the Corona profit-sharing system that asked platform companies to attend the policy meeting. Some observers have observed that the Democratic Party will eventually pressure related companies to participate in the profit-sharing system through the association.
