Reduction of labor is blowing on Lotte Group distribution affiliates who were hit by a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19).
According to the distribution industry on the 24th, Lotte Mart decided to apply for desired retirement for all employees of the same rank for 10 years or more. It is the first time since its founding in 1998 to pursue retirement for all positions, from employees to managers.
However, it is reported that non-contract workers, such as cashiers (calculators), are not eligible for this desired retirement.
For those who wish to retire, the maximum basic salary for each year of service is 27 months as a retirement benefit. In addition, a lump sum of 5 million won is paid for each college student child.
Lotte Mart eventually reduced its staff to restructuring its stores. At the group level, the’short-term outsourcing system’ was introduced to maintain employment stability, but it was interpreted as insufficient. Lotte Mart closed 12 stores last year, and plans to close additional stores this year. From July to December of last year, unpaid leave was given to those who wished.
A Lotte Mart official said, “It is an inevitable decision due to poor performance,” and “it will be made only to applicants with voluntary intention of the applicant.”
In addition, Lotte Group Distribution Business Unit (BU) affiliates Lotte GRS, Lotte Hotel, Lotte Food(383,000 -3.65%), Lotte Asahi Liquor, Lotte Himart(36,050 -1.90%) The back has also taken or has completed the desired retirement procedure.
Lotte GRS, which operates Lotte Food, Lotteria, and Angelinus, accepts applications for retirement for employees with 15 years or older. Lotte Asahi Liquor, who went through a storm after the Japanese boycott and retired last year, is also accepting hopeful retirement.
