By 2040, 1,000 hydrogen companies will be raised… Launched’Hydrogen Innovation Desk’

The government has set up the’Hydrogen Innovation Desk’ within H2 Korea, an agency dedicated to hydrogen industry promotion, to closely support companies’ investment plans for hydrogen economy and foster and support hydrogen specialized companies.

Through the hydrogen innovation desk, the company plans to support major projects of companies that have made bold investments leading to concrete outcomes.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the morning of the 12th that it will hold a signboard ceremony for the’Hydrogen Innovation Desk’ at the headquarters of the Hydrogen Convergence Alliance Promotion Team (H2Korea) in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The event will be attended by Young-Jun Joo, Head of Energy Resources Department of the Ministry of Industry, and Jae-do Moon, Chairman of H2Korea.

The government announced a private investment plan for hydrogen economy worth 43 trillion won at the 3rd Hydrogen Economy Committee on the 2nd. The goal is to foster more than 1,000 specialized hydrogen companies by 2040. Small and medium-sized companies are also planning to invest more than 1 trillion won in specialized fields.

The Ministry of Industry will form a team dedicated to support investment projects within the hydrogen innovation desk, and will provide prompt and close support for the entire process from initial planning to completion. It collects the difficulties of companies at all times, prepares systems for regulatory reform, standards, certification, etc., and supports consultations for local government licensing.

The’Technology and Management Support Group for Hydrogen Specialized Companies’ is formed to provide consulting on technology (technology transfer, product certification, performance test, etc.) and management (strategy establishment, accounting consulting, etc.) of specialized companies. It is planning to promote the enhancement of the innovation capabilities of specialized companies by developing a market using the integrated hydrogen industry information system and matching professional technical personnel.
