Recently, universities in Busan are having difficulty recruiting new students due to the decrease in the school-age population, but customized overseas job training for current students is paying off. In particular, the overseas employment education led by these universities is expected to lead to the discovery of overseas jobs, which will also be helpful to all university students in Booulkyung.

Busan University of Foreign Studies announced on the 5th that it has been selected for two continuous courses and one new course at the ‘2021 K-Move School Competition for Overseas Employment Training Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. The ongoing courses include the’Korea-US Interpretation and Translation Business Practitioner Training Course (20 people)’ and the’Japanese Office Professional Training Course (15 people)’, and the new courses are’Intensive Employment Training Course for ASEAN Language Excellence (15 people)’. In particular, the ASEAN process is meaningful in that it is not the selection of the existing national unit but the selection of a regional unit called ASEAN, which is the core area of the New Southern Policy.

In addition to the three K-Move schools selected this time, Busan University of Foreign Studies is running the K-Move schools of five courses selected last year. In addition, the’Cheonghaejin University Project’, which includes’Vietnam trade logistics office work course’ and’Japan IT course follow-up management’ is also underway.

During the first half of this year, Busan University of Foreign Studies is planning to hold a K-Move school briefing session for three newly selected courses and recruit participating students. Students selected for the K-Move School receive intensive language, job, essential, and literacy education at home and abroad for 7 months from June this year to January next year. They can also receive full support for domestic and international training expenses and airfare. The goal of K-Move School is over 70% of overseas employment for each course.

Professor Kim Ye-gyeom, director of the Overseas Employment Center at Busan University of Foreign Studies, said, “From the second half of this year, the frozen overseas job market is expected to gradually recover. It will be helpful for not only Busan University of Foreign Studies but also Booulkyung university students to find overseas employment in ASEAN.”
