Average of 24.4 people per day for the last week… 2,519 total confirmed cases in Busan

In Busan, a series of confirmed cases of new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) occurred in church members, Jinju International Prayer Center, infant visit classes, and large public baths.
The Busan City Health Authority said through an online briefing on the afternoon of the 22nd, “7 people in the afternoon of the previous day and 28 people in the morning of the day were tested positive for Corona 19.” Additional confirmed cases ranged from 2485 to 2519, totaling 35.
In a church in Haeundae-gu where one member was confirmed the day before, six members were confirmed. Health authorities are conducting epidemiological investigations on the movements and contacts of indicator patients and members of the church.
Four additional people were confirmed, including three contacts and one family member who visited the Jinju International Prayer Center. The number of confirmed cases increased to 30 because the infection started at Jinju Prayer Center has spread to the local N-th infection.
One more person was confirmed in connection with the infant visiting class where the serial infection occurred. This confirmed person is the second contact of an infant guardian who was confirmed by contact with a visiting class teacher. Previously, 18 people were infected with the infant visiting class.
One student attending a daycare center teacher who was confirmed the day before was also confirmed. Currently, it is undergoing diagnostic tests for preschool teachers and graduates.
One contact with Heo Shim-cheong, a large public bath in Dongnae-gu, where infection continues, was also confirmed. The number of confirmed cases related to Heo Shim-cheong increased to 13.
At an alternative school in Gangseo-gu, where the group infection occurred, two more were confirmed. They contacted the confirmed case and were in self-isolation. Including these two, the number of confirmed cases related to alternative schools was counted as 18.
In a nursing hospital in Dongnae-gu, where one hospitalized patient was confirmed the day before, a survey of 67 patients in the same ward, including 248 employees, did not find a confirmed case. The ward where the patient stayed was partially quarantined in the same group (cohort), and all staff who contacted the patient were self-contained. A city official said, “We plan to perform diagnostic tests on the remaining 300 employees.”
Two employees and one contact person were confirmed, and no additional confirmed cases have occurred in the Busan District Act, which was under a full employee investigation.
Most of the remaining additional confirmed cases were found to have been infected by contact between family and acquaintances.
In Busan, the number of confirmed cases from the 15th to the 21st was counted as 177. There were 171 local infections, and the average number of confirmed cases per day was 24.4. The infectious reproductive index was 0.54 and there were 34 cases of unknown infection, which was 19.2%. Although the number of patients is slightly decreasing and the infectious reproductive index is decreasing, there are still many unknown cases of infection, so it is still too early to be relieved by health authorities.
A city official said, “The number of confirmed cases has decreased slightly, but there are still many cases where the cause of the infection is uncertain.”
According to the additional confirmation that day, the total number of confirmed cases in Busan increased to 2,519. 6,417 people, including 3,581 contacts of confirmed patients and 2,836 people entering overseas, are in self-quarantine.
