Bundesliga Leipzig striker Hwang Hee-chan (25) made his first appearance in the regular league game after advancing to the German stage. At the beginning of the game, he had a chance to get a decisive one-on-one chance, but he couldn’t record an attack point.
Hwang Hee-chan started the game against Hertha Berlin, a German Bundesliga round 22 in the 2020-21 season held at the Olympia Stadion in Berlin, Germany on the 21st (Korean time).
Hwang Hee-chan, who played as a striker on the right flank, showed vigorous activity, but could not raise his attack points. He was replaced in the 14th minute of the second half and the team won a 3-0 win.
Hwang Hee-chan, who entered the Bundesliga this season wearing a Leipzig uniform, played in 12 official games before the match. However, it was mostly a replacement input. There was one starting appearance, but it was against Fokal Nuremberg of the German Football Association (DFB).
Leipzig, second place in the league, narrowed the gap to two points with 14 wins, 5 draws and 3 losses (47 points) from Bayern Munich (49 points, 15 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses). Hertha Berlin finished 15th with 18 points (4 wins, 6 draws, 12 losses).
Hwang Hee-chan played as a second-line flanking striker behind Yusuf Poulsen, the front line, and showed light overall movement.
The opportunity at the beginning of the game was the most disappointing. Hwang Hee-chan caught the ball from the rear 5 minutes in the first half and connected it with a left footed shot, but was blocked by the goalkeeper. The movement was good, but the decision was insufficient.
In the 28th minute of the first half, Leipzig took the lead with a picturesque mid-range shot by Marcel Zabizer.
After finishing 1-0 in the first half, Leipzig continued their offensive in the second half. Hwang Hee-chan shot a right-footed shot in the 12th minute of the second half but missed the target. Two minutes later, he was replaced by Christopher Nkunku and finished his first start in the league.
Leipzig won 3-0 with additional goals from Nordy Mukiele and Willie Olban in the second half.
