Controversy is arising when a German broadcaster host talks about comparing BTS to coronavirus.

According to local media, Matthias Matushke, the program host of German radio broadcast’Bayern 3′, criticized the BTS stage during the live broadcast on the night of the 24th (local time). On this day, BTS appeared on’MTV Unplugged’ for the first time among Korean singers and showed off the cover stage for’Fix You’ of the band’Cold Play’. MTV Unplugged is a live program based on acoustic sound of MTV, an American music channel, and is a stage for legendary musicians such as Nirvana.

Matushke said, “BTS is short for Corona 19,” saying, “BTS is short for Corona 19, and hopes that a vaccine to cure them will come out soon” that BTS appeared on MTV Unplugged. “I’m not against Korea, you can’t just say I’m a racist just because I hate boy bands from Korea,” he said. “I have a Korean car.” He insisted that “it is a paradox that the boy band appeared in Unplugged.” Matushke said, “BTS has to go on vacation to North Korea for about 20 years,” while uttering harsh swear words.

Eventually, the Bayern 3 broadcaster issued a statement on the website on the 26th and officially apologized.

However, “Matushke had no intention of injuring anyone or racism,” he added, adding that “it was just acting the character he wanted to express,” he added, rekindling the fire of controversy.
