Lotte Giants outfielder Min Byung-hun, 34, will be on the operating table on the 22nd due to a brain aneurysm.

On the 18th, Lotte announced the news of Min Byung-hun’s surgery. A cerebral aneurysm is a disease in which blood vessels swell as part of the walls of cerebrovascular vessels weakens, and in severe cases, it can lead to cerebral hemorrhage.

According to the club, Min Byeong-hun, who is undergoing surgery ahead of the spring camp, said it would be better to inform him of his condition first, and the fact of the operation was announced.

Min Byeong-hun, who made a call with News 1 on this day, said, “Many people are worried, but it’s okay.”

Min Byeong-hun visited the hospital with headache symptoms in 2019, and discovered an abnormal cerebral aneurysm for the first time.

Since then, I have been steadily examined by the hospital, and this time I have undergone surgery. Min Byeong-hun has a painful memory when his father became famous for a brain hemorrhage when he was a freshman in middle school.

He said, “I’m so glad I found it in advance,” he said. “I didn’t know my father, but he died, but it’s okay to know in advance and cope with it.”

Min Byeong-hun, who signed an FA contract with Lotte for 4 years and 8 billion won before the 2018 season, was sluggish last year. In the 2018-19 season, he surpassed 30% for two consecutive years, but last year he hit only 0.233 with 72 hits and 23 RBIs in 109 games.

In July last season, he told manager Heo Moon-hoe directly the story of the second army, and remained in the first group due to the pressure of coach Heo.

Min Byung-hun, who served as the captain of the’Giant Corps’ in 2020, said, “It can’t be said that I didn’t have a hard time, but I didn’t want to show it off.”

Min Byeong-hun, who is on the operating table on the 22nd, will not attend the spring camp in Sajik-gu, Busan from February. It is the first time since his professional debut that Min Byung-hun has been missing from the spring camp.

He explained, “I wasn’t able to participate in the camp for the first time in 16 years,” he said. “Sorry, but without me, it seemed to be an issue. That’s why we talked through the club in advance.

Min Byung-hun, who undergoes surgery for a cerebral aneurysm, promised to return to the ground in a healthy appearance. He said, “I only wanted to show you a good image, but I’m sorry to inform you of the news of the surgery,” he said. “I will return to a healthy state after completing both surgery and rehabilitation.”

Min Byeong-hun made a laugh outwardly for the fans who were rather worried, saying, “It’s okay. Isn’t it possible that this could happen in life? I’ll get a good surgery.”
