KEPCO announces and applies for tender by February 5th…Opening on the 8th

[에너지신문] As part of the company’s RE100 implementation plan, KEPCO will be implementing the green premium in earnest from this month. The plan is to enhance global competitiveness and spread the eco-friendly value practice of consumers.

According to KEPCO on the 5th, as the’Renewable Energy Use Deliberation Committee’ on December 21st last year confirmed the green premium sales volume, the lower limit of bidding, and the successful bid criteria, this year’s green premium bid participation announcement and application was made about one month from the 5th On the 8th of next month, the final successful bid volume and price are confirmed.

The green premium is a voluntary fund paid by electricity consumers who want to purchase electricity produced from renewable energy separately from the electricity bill, and can be used for RE100 certification as a’renewable energy use confirmation’ corresponding to the amount paid for the green premium.

Participating in the Green Premium are consumers of general purpose or industrial power who maintain an electricity use contract with KEPCO on the 5th. If you apply for the quantity and price you want to participate in the 2021 Green Premium by February 5th according to the method posted on the KEPCO website and cyber branches, the successful bid quantity and price will be individually announced to the successful bidder on the 8th. In addition, the total number of successful bids and the highest price are posted on the KEPCO website.

The contract period is maintained until December 31, and the green premium is paid monthly, and the renewable energy use confirmation is issued quarterly.

In addition, the green premium paid by consumers will be used as a resource for renewable energy investment projects promoted by the Korea Energy Agency in accordance with relevant laws, such as the Enforcement Decree of the Energy Use Rationalization Act and the Regulations (Notice) on Support for Renewable Energy Facilities.
