YouTuber Bogyeom announced that he is preparing a lawsuit against the visiting professor at Sejong University, Yoon Ji-seon, who defined his buzzword as’Boyru’ as a misogynistic term in his thesis.

On the 4th, Bogyeom said through his YouTube channel, “Obviously, I was a victim, but within a day or two, I became a perpetrator, trash, and misogynistic.”

What Bogyeom pointed as the cause is Professor Ji-sun Yoon’s thesis “Epidemiology of’Kwaneumworm’: A Neomaterialist Analysis of the Transition of the Process of Incomplete Transformation of Korean Masculinity” published in the Journal of Philosophy in December 2019.

In the thesis, Professor Yoon said, “Korean boys who are repeatedly exposed to media creators’ indiscriminate and misogynistic content are men who are aggressive in imitating and acquiring voyeuristic gazes on the sexually objectified female body, and misogynistic terminology and female demeaning behavior. It was identified as a model of sexual expression.” As an example, referring to the buzzword’Boiru’, which is repeatedly used by boys in elementary school, he explained, “It can be seen as a case of male play culture that has spread widely through mutual imitation through the media.

Regarding’Boi-ru’, the term’Boi-ru’ spread by a YouTuber called Bo-gyeom is a compound word of Bo X + Hi, like the buzzword of misogynistic play from elementary school boys to young people in their 20s and 30s. Was used”. In response, Bogyeom raised the question that it was not an expression that degraded female genitals, and Professor Yoon accepted this and partially revised the thesis.

The revised thesis says, “This term began by combining’Bogyeom + Hairu’ as a greeting by YouTuber BJ Bogyeom, who has millions of subscribers, and deprecating female genitals from elementary school students to young men in their 20s to 30s. It was defined as an expression that was used and spread like a buzzword as’Bo X + Hairu’.”

Regarding this, Bogyeom said, “There is no apology for the victim, and Bogyeom is still a derogatory expression for women”. He said, “It helped to do this.”

To Professor Yoon, he said, “We are collecting all the lawsuit data like evil.” “Even in this situation, Korean men were bugged for their position as a feminist, rice bowl and profit, and certain individuals were stigmatized as misogynistic, causing pain for a lifetime. You are letting me live,” he protested.
