A parking lot for an apartment in Guro-gu on the 10th at 10pm. An unbelievable sight unfolded in front of A, an apartment resident, who came out to eat dinner for a street cat living in the parking lot. The place where I met cats every day was covered in blood. The back door and floor of the passenger seat of a nearby vehicle were also bleeding and solidified. Traces of gray hairs remained on the roof of the vehicle.
A street cat was brutally killed in an apartment parking lot in Guro-gu, Seoul, and the police investigated. It happened five days after the warning notice in the parking lot stating’prohibition of feeding street cats’ was posted. The damaged vehicle owner reported property damage to the police on the 11th.

Reporter A said, “I went to the parking lot to feed it at 10 pm this day, and the parking lot floor and the vehicle were covered with blood.” Mr. A added, “I have often received complaints from residents saying that if the cat is in the parking lot, it will scratch the car, but I did not know that the cat would die in this way.”
No cat carcasses were found on site. According to the police, the apartment management office found the cat’s body and recovered it. Currently, the carcass of a cat is highly decayed, making it difficult to identify trauma.
The police secured a 5-day CCTV record for parking lot to investigate the incident. An official from the Guro Police Station said, “To confirm the exact cause of the cat’s death, we have secured CCTV, and we have to examine the facts, such as whether the iron skewer found nearby was a killing tool. We are grasping it together.”
If the killing of a cat turns out to be true, the perpetrator could be punished for violating the Animal Protection Act following animal cruelty.
