Bitcoin bubble bursts next week… Prophecy of Professor Rubini

“Bubble is coming on January 15th” on Twitter
I don’t provide evidence… Pessimistic all the way last year

While the price of bitcoin, the leader of the virtual currency, is rising every day, Nouriel Rubini, a professor at New York University, famous for’Dr. Doom’ predicted that “the bitcoin bubble will burst next week.”

Professor Rubini said on his Twitter account on the night of the 7th (local time), “January 15th is coming. On this day, the bitcoin bubble will burst.” (January 15th is coming, for the bitcoin bubble to pop). However, he did not provide evidence or explain what was scheduled for the 15th.

Professor Rubini has expressed negative views on cryptocurrency since the early days of Bitcoin’s launch. Last year, when the bitcoin price jumped more than four times, he mentioned several times that “the shitcoin bubble will surely burst.”

Not only Professor Rubini, but also a number of experts have pessimistic prospects for the further rise of Bitcoin.

Derivative market analyst Peter Brant affirmed that “it is too late to invest in cryptocurrency at this point.” Because the bitcoin price has jumped too much in the short term, it is highly likely to lose money rather than gain additional profits.

On the other hand, Simons Chen of cryptocurrency service provider Babel Finance said in an interview with CNBC that “the current price may be supported because institutional investors are looking for alternative investment vehicles for the purpose of hedge inflation.”

Bitcoin podcaster Cedric Young-Golman also stressed on his Twitter that “Bitcoin is the first living organism to live on the Internet,” and that “the use will be much more diverse than it is now.”

Bitcoin price, which first exceeded $40,000 on this day, is moving at around $38,500 each as of 2 am on the 8th the next day. Bitcoin is freely traded 24 hours a day, so there are no closing prices or upper and lower limits.
