US President Biden, who was interviewed by CBS, replied that he had no reason to call when asked why he had not spoken to Chinese President Xi Jinping after taking office.
He explained that he had had more than 24 hours of meetings in China as Vice President, and that he would have spent more time with President Xi than any other leader in the world.
President Biden called Xi as smart and harsh, but said he had no democratic side.
In doing so, it foretold extreme competition between the United States and China.

President Biden said mass competition would focus on international rules and not on Trump’s way, suggesting that it would be a strategy to unite alliances and pressure China rather than a trade war between the US and China.
The Chinese ambassador to the United States expressed a strong reluctance to the US public pressure.
