U.S. President-elect Joe Biden entered Washington DC on the 19th (local time) one day before his inauguration, and the first thing he did was to commemorate the victims of Corona 19.

According to the Associated Press on the day, Biden attended a mourning event held at the Reflecting Pool near the Lincoln Memorial in the National Mall in Washington DC, saying, “To heal, you must remember.”It’s sometimes difficult to remember, but that’s how we heal.”

In the Reflecting Pool, 400 lighting devices, representing 400,000 cumulative deaths of Corona 19 in the United States, were installed to reveal their surroundings. At the Washington DC Cathedral, a mourning bell for 1,000 American victims rang 400 times. Elect Biden emphasized, “While the sun goes down and the clouds go down, let’s light up the darkness along the divine reflecting pool and remember all the people we have left.”

Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, his spouse Douglas Mhoff, and the next first lady, Jill Biden, also attended the event. “Today we begin healing together in grief,” said Harris. “My unchanging hope and prayer is that we gain new wisdom through this adversity.”

The United States lit the lights and held a nighttime event to mourn those who died of Corona 19 at attractions across the country, including the National Mall.

The United States, which is regarded as the’world’s largest corona 19 victim’, recorded 411,000 cumulative deaths as of the day. With 150,000 new confirmed cases every day, the spread is expected to continue even after the inauguration of the Biden administration. As there is a trend of newly infected 150,000 people a day, the number of deaths is expected to continue increasing for the time being even after the Biden administration was launched.

Prior to leaving for Washington, DC, Biden gave a farewell speech on the same day at Newcastle, Delaware, with more than 100 people including his family and state elected officials in the background of 12 flags fluttering outside of the National Guard.

Biden’s hometown is Scranton, Pennsylvania, but he moved to Delaware when his father lost his job when he was 10 years old and has been living for over 60 years.

The speech was focused on the state of Delaware and Boy Biden, the eldest son, who died of brain cancer in 2015. Biden said, “The only sad thing right now is that he wasn’t here,” he cried while mentioning Bo. The location of the speech that day was also named after Bo.

He choked his emotions as he recalled when his parents moved to Delaware in financial hardship. He recalled the process of being first elected as Newcastle County Congressman before being elected to the Senate, where he had served for over 30 years.

“On behalf of my family, I want to tell you how precious you are to me and to us all,” he said. “If I die, I will put Delaware in my heart.”

Biden is officially inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States through an oath of inauguration on the 20th at noon on the 20th and 2am on the 21st EST. In the inauguration speech, unity and reconstruction of the United States will be the key message.
