Minister of Justice Park Beom-gye visits the Ansan branch office of Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office on the 9th and encourages the investigation team for’LH (Korea Land and Housing Corporation) employees Gwangmyeong Siheung allegations of land speculation’.

Minister Park is scheduled to receive a report on the work plan from the’Real Estate Speculation Investigation Team’ after having a luncheon meeting with the executives of the Ansan branch office on this day. In addition, he is planning to ask for organic cooperation with the police in this investigation. On this day, the head of the keynote office of the Ministry of Justice and the head of the Human Rights Bureau are present, and all four prosecutors from the investigation team attend the luncheon meeting.

An official from the Ministry of Justice said, “Under the investigation rights reform system that began this year, we will show an exemplary precedent for organic cooperation between speculums by actively utilizing the investigation know-how of the prosecution, a legal expert. I am going to ask for that.”

The previous day, the Ansan branch office formed a real estate speculation investigation team in relation to allegations of land dumping by LH employees. The investigation team consisted of 4 prosecutors and 8 investigators from the same department, led by Prosecutor Lee Gon-hyung, head of the Financial and Economic Crime Division (Criminal Division 3).

However, the composition of the investigation team is known not as a direct investigation by the prosecution, but as an investigation collaboration with the police such as judicial review and preliminary preparation for a supplementary investigation after being sent to the prosecution. The dedicated team will work closely with related agencies such as the police from the initial investigation stage to support and share legal review and case analysis data.
