‘Basketball Emperor’ Jordan’s autographed card wins 1.6 billion won in US auction
Includes a piece and autograph of a uniform worn by the NBA All-Star

(New York = Yonhap News) Correspondent Ko Il-hwan = Basketball cards signed by Michael Jordan of’the emperor of basketball’ sold for 1.44 million dollars (about 1.6 billion won).
Investment magazine Barrance said on the 5th (local time) that at an auction hosted by Heritage Auction in Dallas, Texas, the US Professional Basketball (NBA) game jersey card, launched in 1997 by the sports commemorative product manufacturer Upper Deck, was awarded the highest price as Jordan’s card. Reported.
This card contains Jordan’s signature along with a piece of uniform Jordan wore in the 1992 NBA All-Star game.
At that time, 23 cards were produced, and this is the 8th card.
Sports commemorative product manufacturers produce cards with the players’ signatures or uniforms, but because they are’probability items’ that are randomly included in the set of cards they sell, collectors cannot choose and purchase them.
Previously, the highest winning bid among cards related to Jordan was $915,000 (about 1.30 billion won) recorded in December last year.
Jordan-related products were originally very popular, but last year, Jordan’s documentary’The Last Dance’ increased demand, Barrence said.
At the Heritage Auction, 69 people participated in the bid over the phone. The identity of the successful bidder was not disclosed.
Earlier, at the Christie’s auction in August last year, the’Air Jordan 1 Highs’ worn during the 1985 demonstration game was auctioned off for $615,000 (about 690 million won).
