[아시아경제 성기호 기자] NH Nonghyup Bank lowers the preferential interest rate for mortgage loans by up to 0.3 percentage points. The intention is to strengthen the management of household loans that are increasing rapidly.

According to the financial sector on the 7th, the Nonghyup Bank will begin to adjust its headline starting on the 8th. First, the’first new customer preferential interest rate 0.2% point’ is deleted, and the preferential interest rate provided for short-term variable rates of less than one year is lowered to 0.1% point. Previously, it was 0.2 percentage points.

However, there is no change in the total policy preferential interest rate limit such as the preferential interest rate for farmers (0.2% point) by 0.3% point, and the interest rate limit is maintained at 1.2% point.

This interest rate adjustment is due to the need to strengthen management as household loans increase. In fact, household loans at the beginning of this year are showing a sharp increase. As of the end of last month, the five major banks, KB Kookmin, Shinhan, Hana, Woori, and Nonghyup Bank, had a household loan balance of 67.8 trillion and 1705 billion won. This is an increase of 3,796.7 billion won in one month compared to 674 trillion 373.8 billion won at the end of January.

Earlier, Shinhan Bank increased both the Judamdae interest rate and the jeonse loan interest rate from the 5th. The interest rate for mortgage loans, which is 2.3~3.55% per year for apartments, was raised by 0.2 percentage points, and the interest rate for loans from Shinhan Electric Power Corporation guaranteed by the Housing Finance Corporation and Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation also increased by 0.2 percentage points.
