[Reporter Lee Se-mi]Last month, the balance of household loans in banknotes exceeded 1,000 trillion won for the first time in history. Although stock investment-related loans declined, it is interpreted that the scale of loans increased as housing-related loans increased significantly due to Lee Dong-cheol.

According to the’Financial Market Trends in February 2021′ announced by the Bank of Korea on the 10th, the bank’s household loan balance as of the end of February was KRW 100.3 trillion, an increase of KRW 6.700 trillion from the end of January (99.84 trillion KRW). This is the second largest increase in history since the breaking news in 2004, based on the increase in February.

Bank household loans showed an increasing trend, mainly on mortgage loans. Mortgage mortgage loans increased by 6.4 trillion won, the second largest ever since February last year (7.8 trillion won), and cheonsei loans from banks increased by 3.4 trillion won.

On the other hand, the increase in other loans, including credit loans such as living funds and stock investment, increased by only 300 billion won compared to an increase of 2.6 trillion won last month, and the increase decreased. It is analyzed that the demand for funds related to stock investment, including the inflow of bonuses for the New Year, has slowed.

Corporate loans decreased slightly to 8.9 trillion won compared to the previous month as the increase in lending to large corporations decreased. However, loans to SMEs, including loans for individual business owners of 4.1 trillion won, surged to 8.4 trillion won a month.

As of the end of February, the bank’s account balance was 1963.800 trillion won, an increase of 38.3 trillion won from the end of January. Occasional deposits and deposits increased by 35 trillion won, and fixed deposits increased by 2.6 trillion won.
