Bank to promote’social distancing’ of branches from the 28th

[서울=뉴스핌] Reporter Park Mi-ri = The Banking Federation announced on the 27th that it will promote social distancing of bank branches from the 28th in accordance with the government’s’special quarantine measures for the year-end and New Year holidays’.

This is a reinforcement measure targeting both the customer waiting space (passenger) and the work space (window) in the branch. First, in the waiting space, limit the number of waiting customers to 10 or fewer, and keep a sufficient distance by sitting in a space. For customers who cannot enter due to the number of people, a’customer waiting line’ is displayed at the entrance of the branch, and the distance between customers is guided so that the distance between customers is maintained at least 2m.

In the work space, the possibility of infection between the customer and the staff or customer is prevented as much as possible through expansion of partitions, and if partitions are difficult to install, the distance between consultants should be kept at least 2m (at least 1.5m). If sufficient distance cannot be maintained due to space constraints in branches, a plan to close some windows is also under active consideration.

These measures are to be promoted in terms of’strengthening quarantine’ in consideration of the recent spread of Corona 19 and the possibility of increasing financial demand during the year-end and New Year holidays. The Bank’s Association explained that individual banks will maintain the basic principles, but will implement them flexibly according to the situation of each branch.

“It is a time when all members of the society need active participation in order to prevent the spread of Corona 19,” said Kim Kwang-soo, chairman of the Banking Federation. Even if there is a problem, we ask for your understanding as it is an inevitable measure for the safety of our family and neighbors.”
