The government is in the midst of preparations for AstraZeneca’s’Corona 19′ vaccine six days before the start of vaccination. All of the heavy-duty procedures from vaccination approval to vaccination simulation training to vaccination target selection were completed. The government plans to establish a final vaccine distribution plan and will sequentially inoculate AstraZeneca vaccine to 270,000 residents and workers in nursing hospitals and facilities under the age of 65 from the 26th.
The government compiled and confirmed the list of vaccinations submitted by nursing hospitals and facilities by 12 pm on the 19th. Along with this, the results of’agreement rate’ that asked about the actual intention to inoculate will be announced on the afternoon of the 20th. In principle, when vaccination is rejected, the vaccination is pushed down to the fourth quarter, which is the most subordinated in principle, and the lower the consent rate of the first vaccination target group, the lower the rate of vaccination in the second to third quarters, so there is great interest in this count.
◇ Announcement of the first priority for vaccination, targets for residents and workers in nursing hospitals and facilities
The Central Defense Response Headquarters will announce the vaccination consent rate of residents and workers in nursing hospitals and facilities at 2:10 pm on the 20th. The number of targets for vaccination planned by the government was 272,131, and the percentage of those who agreed to the actual vaccination can be confirmed.
An official from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said, “In the first time, consent rate statistics will be released on this day, and corrections can be made until the actual vaccination.”
The government originally planned to start vaccinating AstraZeneca to about 750,000 residents and workers in nursing hospitals and facilities. However, on the 10th, the final inspection committee of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety stipulated a condition that’carefully administered’ to 65 years of age or older, and on the 11th, the Vaccination Specialist Committee of the Agency for Disease Control and Prevention ultimately considered the reliability of medical staff and the public. By limiting the number of vaccinations, the number of vaccinations decreased to 272,131. The first step was twisted, but the government explained that it was not enough to interfere with the formation of group immunity in November.
The vaccination for the remaining 65 years of age or older is scheduled to start in April. Until then, it plans to secure additional clinical data for AstraZeneca vaccine for the elderly, and finally decide which vaccine to receive.
On the 15th, the government announced plans to implement such vaccinations in February and March. Since then, each nursing hospital and facilities tried to receive the list of inhabitants and workers by the 16th, but the registration deadline has been extended to the 17th, only one day after the vaccination plan was announced. After that, the government finally compiled a list of vaccination consents and vaccination lists identified by each local government by the 19th.
◇’Self-inoculation’ in a nursing hospital working as a doctor… Nursing facility’visit vaccination’
The number of 272,131 people who are the number one vaccination targets planned by the government this time was determined based on the data submitted to the government in January by the National Health Insurance Corporation and the relevant ministries.
Specifically, there are 168,697 residents and workers under the age of 65 at nursing and mental hospitals (1,720 locations nationwide), 9,902 people in nursing care facilities (3795 nationwide), 93,532 people, and mental care and rehabilitation facilities (358 locations nationwide). to be.
Among these, nursing hospitals where doctors work are inoculated by medical staff. Elderly care facilities and mental care rehabilitation facilities where doctors do not work are visited by a consignment medical institution, a health center visit team, or a contracted doctor for each facility. The health center visit team consists of 1 doctor, 1 nurse, and 2 administrative personnel. Depending on the situation, nursing facilities also allowed vaccination in public health centers.
The number of people who receive self-inoculation at nursing hospitals is 16,697, more than 10,3434 people who are subject to visits to nursing homes and mental health care facilities.
New hospitalizations, residents, and workers that occur after the vaccination target is determined will be vaccinated according to the vaccination order by age group (2nd to 3rd quarters).

The government plans to finalize a vaccine distribution plan by the 23rd, depending on the size of the confirmed vaccination targets.

On the 19th, the government conducted simulation training for the entire process from shipment to transportation. Led by the Ministry of Defense, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (distribution management team), the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the National Police Agency, the Fire Department, local inoculation agencies (health centers, nursing hospitals, facilities, etc.), and SKB (distribution companies) participated in the training.
The released vaccine is transported overland by the police and military police to the distribution center in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, and then delivered to the refrigerated warehouse under the supervision of the Transportation Support Headquarters and the military police. The AstraZeneca vaccine must be maintained at a temperature of 2 to 8 degrees Celsius during transportation and storage.

As sequential vaccination begins on the 26th, adverse reactions are monitored, reported, and prompt response is made.
