The government has decided this week as soon as the AstraZeneca Corona 19 vaccine is inoculated for the elderly over the age of 65.

On the 7th, the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team announced on the 7th that, on the 7th, regarding whether or not to expand the scope of the AstraZeneca vaccine, it is scheduled to hold a vaccination specialty committee during this week (7-13) to discuss the related content.

When the government announced the’February to March vaccination implementation plan’ last month, it has suspended AstraZeneca vaccination for residents and workers aged 65 or older in nursing hospitals and nursing facilities. This is because controversy over the effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine’s vaccination for the elderly in Europe continued. As a result, the vaccination schedule of about 370,000 people, including nursing hospitals and nursing facility residents aged 65 or older, was pushed back.

However, as the UK recently released a study proving the effectiveness of AstraZeneca vaccine vaccination for the elderly, countries that have withheld vaccination to the elderly are changing their policies one after another. According to the UK’s England Public Health Agency (PHE), a survey of elderly people aged 80 or older who received a single dose of AstraZeneca Corona 19 vaccine showed that hospitalization cases decreased by 80% after 3-4 weeks of vaccination. Those over 70 years of age showed 60-73% of infection prevention effects after 4 weeks of vaccination.
