According to the ‘2019 wage earned job income (reward) results’ released by the National Statistical Office on the 24th, the monthly average income of wage workers was 3,900,000 won and the median income was 2.43 million won, respectively, 120,000 won (4.1%) and 140,000 won (6.3%) compared to the previous year. %) went up. The average income of male workers is 3.6 million won, which is 1.53 times that of women (2.36 million won). However, compared to the previous year, the gap has partially narrowed. Males increased by 140,000 won (3.9%) and females increased by 110,000 won (5.1%). The median income of men is 2.83 million won, which is 1.44 times that of women (1.96 million won).

The wage gap between large companies and SMEs still exceeded twice. The average monthly pre-tax income of large corporations was 5.15 million won, an increase of 140,000 won (2.9%) compared to the previous year, and those of SMEs rose 140,000 won (6.1%) to 2.45 million won.

In large corporations, the share of workers receiving 2.5 million to 3.5 million won per month was the highest at 14.6%, and in SMEs, workers receiving 1.5 million to 2.5 million won were the highest at 33.6%. The proportion of workers who receive a monthly salary of 10 million won or more was 7.6% for large companies and 1.1% for small and medium-sized enterprises.

By age, men in their 40s (420,000 won) and women in their 30s (2.94 million won) have the highest average income. Men in their 40s, 50s (4,350,000 won), 30s (3.62 million won), and women in their 30s, 40s (2.86 million won), and 50s (2.38 million won). The gender average income difference is the largest among those in their 50s (1,980,000 won) and the smallest among those under the age of 19 (110,000 won).

The National Statistical Office has compiled statistics on the jobs of those who are enrolled in the four major social insurance policies throughout the year and whose income is being monitored by administrative agencies through withholding tax and income reporting. Jobs for special types of work (special high school) workers were excluded. The aggregated value is monthly income before tax. Travel expenses and fuel expenses paid in the form of reimbursement for actual expenses were not included in the count.
