Audi electric vehicle mileage verification error… Resubmit related materials

Audi’s first pure electric vehicle’e-tron’ was found to have an error in the one-time charging mileage certified by the Ministry of Environment.

According to Audi Volkswagen Korea and the Ministry of Environment on the 19th, Audi recently recognized that there is an error in the low-temperature environment mileage of the e-tron 55 quattro model certified by the Ministry of Environment, and resubmitted related data and is following the procedure.

An Audi official said, “I found out that the mileage in the low-temperature environment was measured in the US standard, and I have resubmitted the test data according to Korean regulations.”

Low-temperature mileage is the standard used when subsidizing electric vehicles.

However, Audi explained that there was no history of receiving subsidies because all of them were sold before the result of the subsidy application for e-tron came out.

According to the Ministry of Environment, Korea measures the mileage with all the heater functions turned on, but the U.S. operates only with the defrost function, so there may be differences in test results.

The Ministry of Environment announced that it is investigating whether Audi Volkswagen Korea has violated the Air Conservation Act, and plans to verify the result of one-time charging mileage through actual vehicle driving tests.

Audi’s e-tron 55 quattro gained popularity by selling out imports in about two months after its launch in July last year.

Audi Volkswagen was hit by public opinion when it was revealed that it manipulated vehicle emissions in 2015.

In Korea, it stopped selling for two years and resumed business in April 2018.
