Yoon Hee-sang (35), who kept the SK mound, transformed into a glove designer. Yoon Hee-sang retired after finishing his 17 years of active duty on October 30. However, he couldn’t quit his relationship with baseball and opened a glove store in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon. Yoon Hee-sang, who met at the store on the 23rd, said, “My friends and seniors and juniors are giving me the virtues that they are’just right.’
Yoon Hee-sang is known as’Yoon Guy’ because of her dexterity. If you have a tool, you can make anything. His painting skills are also exceptional.
When I was in active duty, I used to draw caricatures of my colleagues and hang them on the bulletin board in the locker room. The skill of handling gloves is excellent. It provided a’service’ to easily tame the gloves of colleagues, and’orders’ flooded. That’s why it is called’Glove Master’. Yoon Hee-sang took advantage of his strengths and jumped into his second life.
Yoon Hee-sang even made the glove in mind. However, since glove production must be equipped with facilities, such a large amount of investment must be followed. And it took time and years to follow the glove’craftsmen’. Heesang Yoon said, “I asked a close production company to’learn to make gloves even while working for a year’, but the president said,’It is desirable to leave the production to a professional engineer, and you should reflect the opinions of the players wearing gloves. ‘He advised me,’ he explained.
Yoon Hee-sang’s glove design enjoys high popularity among players. ‘Iron Man’ is Yoon Hee-sang’s favorite design. It is a’work’ made at the request of SK pitching junior Park Min-ho (28), and it was meticulously attached by sewing, not a sewing machine. Of course, it is Park Min-ho’s favorite baseball equipment.

Kim Gwang-hyun (32), pitcher of the St. Louis Cardinals, who settled in the US professional baseball major this year, made his debut with a glove designed by Yoon Hee-sang. Kim Gwang-hyun pulled the ball out of the glove on the Korean Peninsula and threw it vigorously. Yoon Hee-sang said, “I am so grateful that (Kim) Kwang-hyun says,’I believe and use the glove my brother made.’ It was a tip.
The SK team decided to provide’Yoonhee trademark’ gloves to all players next year. Yun Hee-sang, who is keenly aware of the strengths and weaknesses of his former teammates, plans to pour out his know-how to meet the demands of the players. Yoon Hee-sang explained, “Before retirement, we have collected the glove data of SK players in the gap. Of course, we will provide individual customization by reflecting the styles the players want.” Heesang Yoon added, “The first team players usually receive sponsorship, but Park Bong-in’s second team players are very burdened because they have to purchase gloves and other supplies.”
Now that you have entered the business, you have to pursue profit. The customer base also expanded. Not only professional baseball players, but also amateurs and hobbyists are also guests. Heesang Yoon said, “If professional baseball players who use gloves with my hands perform well, my brand power will increase,” he said. “In addition, we will provide quality and favorite gloves to amateurs and hobbyists.”
Yoon Hee-sang made his debut in the first group in 2004, and has played 216 games so far this year, with 42 wins, 44 losses, 1 save, 7 holds, and an average ERA of 4.82. After his debut in the first team, he was unable to announce his name due to injuries, surgery, and military service, but in 2012 he gained 10-9 losses and an average ERA of 3.36, becoming a starting pitcher, and in 2018 he changed his position to a bullpen. ‘SK Man’ who has never left.
Yoon Hee-sang said, “Since a few years ago,’I can’t do it anymore’,’I have a lot of talented juniors, so it won’t be easy to win the competition’. I did.” Hee-sang Yoon said, “I retired, but I will be within the fence of baseball, such as running a glove shop and teaching at a youth baseball clinic,” he added. “Baseball is still thankful and precious to me.”
