During the reign of King Sukjong, the 19th king of Joseon (1661 to 1720, reign of 1674 to 1720), there were three reigns. In each of these incidents called Gyeongshin (1680, Sukjong 6), Knight (1689, Sukjong 15), and Gapsul (1694, Sukjong 20), Hwanguk, the king suddenly replaced the ruling power of the court. It was mainly known as the story of Jang Hee-bin and Queen In-hyun in the royal historical drama, but for King Sukjong, it was a kind of matchmaker to strengthen the kingship amid fierce party struggles.

After arranging close friends in this way, Sukjong brought them together and held a kind of ‘Vow of Allegiance’ event. It is a royal ceremony held on August 30, 1680 (6th year of King Sukjong), a ritual held by the king to the gods of Heaven and Earth. The hoeming is a rite of loyalty dating back to the spring and autumn period of China, and during the Joseon royal family hoeming system, not only new contributors but also descendants of successive contributors gathered in one place. During the 6-year meeting of King Sukjong, a total of 489 people attended, and 412 people attended, excluding those who were elderly or injured.

A royal document produced by Nokhundogam (復勳都監) in 1694 (Sukjong 20) to commemorate the Hoe Ming Festival held in 1680.錄勳後 (hereinafter referred to as the Congregation of Congregational Associations)’ is promoted to a national treasure. It is an enormous scale document for fish, measuring 25m in length. It is the only one.” In particular, in the case of this Gongsinhoe Maengchuk, the related record, “Nokhundogamuigwe”, which can be used to closely grasp the production process of the Eoram-use Hoemengchuk, has a greater meaning. The Gongsin Association is housed in Jangseogak, the Central Research Institute of Korean Studies, and has never been released to the public due to its overwhelming size.

Along with this, the Cultural Heritage Administration announced that’Sangju Namjangsa Yeongsanhoe Gwaebuldo and Costume Relic’ and’Gumi Daedunsa Gyeongjang’ were designated as treasures respectively. The Gumi Daedunsa Gyeongjang was established in 1630 (The 8th Injo), and it is a very rare example of a Buddhist woodcraft in the Joseon Dynasty whose production period was clearly identified through prestigious texts. The relics of Namjangsa Temple in Sangju consist of a large Buddhist painting in the late 18th century with a height of 11 meters, a costume bag containing various costumes, and costume relics including a storage box.
