(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Jandi Kim = AstraZeneca’s new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine has been confirmed to have completed the national shipment approval, the last quality inspection procedure by the health authorities.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 17th that AstraZeneca’s Corona 19 vaccine will be approved for shipping by the country.
Kim Sang-bong, head of the Food and Drug Administration’s Bio-Pharmaceutical Bureau, told Yonhap News and said, “I know it will be shipped this day.”
Vaccines must go through a national shipment approval procedure to verify the quality before being distributed or marketed separately from the item license. AstraZeneca’s Corona 19 vaccine has undergone a national shipment approval procedure after obtaining an item permission from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on the 10th.
In addition, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has made plans to complete approval after the first week of March for Pfizer’s Corona 19 vaccine, which has applied for an item license. Expert consultation will be conducted after the fourth week of this month for permission review.
