On the 15th, the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team announced the’Corona 19 Vaccination February-March implementation plan’ (hereinafter referred to as the’Enforcement Plan’) through a briefing by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. However, the vaccination for the controversial aged 65 or older was decided to withhold.

Accordingly, the first vaccination is scheduled to be performed first from nursing hospitals, facility workers, and residents under the age of 65. Two types of vaccines introduced in Korea in the first quarter are AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

For those over 65 years of age, after confirming additional clinical information on the effectiveness of the vaccine (expected at the end of March), the vaccination plan will be decided after deliberation by the Specialized Vaccination Committee.

The Astra vaccine will arrive in Korea on the 24th and be delivered to public health centers nationwide, and will be vaccinated to nursing hospitals, facility residents and workers from the 26th.

In the case of AstraZeneca vaccine, medical institutions such as nursing hospitals and high-risk medical institutions provide their own vaccinations, while nursing facilities take into account residents with limited mobility, but vaccinations in public health centers are also possible depending on regional conditions. In addition, the first responders plan to administer the vaccination at the competent public health center.

The government initially decided to inoculate 780,000 elderly and workers in nursing homes in the first quarter, but as 500,000 people over 65 years of age are excluded from the target, 272,000 people under the age of 65 will be the first targets.

Inoculations to 354,000 health care workers at high-risk medical institutions will begin on March 8, and vaccinations to 78,000 first-line Corona 19 responders, including quarantine, epidemiological investigations, tests, and quarantine personnel, will begin on March 22. .

The head of the promotion group Jung Eun-kyung emphasized, “To recover from the Corona 19 crisis and restore a safe and precious daily life, the participation of all the people is necessary” and ordered “If you are in the vaccination order to form a group immunity, please actively participate in vaccination.” did.
