The cumulative confirmed cases of coronavirus infection (Corona 19) related to the cricket boiler manufacturing plant in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do increased to 129.

According to the city of Chungnam Province and Asan on the 17th, the number of confirmed cases related to the cricket boiler plant in Chungnam province increased by eight on that day alone, and the cumulative number of people was 129 (including five Daejeon families).

Among the confirmed cases, 102 employees were employed, and their families and acquaintances were 27. Nine of the employees were tested and confirmed in other locations.

On the 13th, which was the Lunar New Year holiday, one worker in this factory (Cheonan 850) was confirmed for Corona 19 for the first time. Accordingly, it is known that many of the employees who visited their hometown during the holiday season were tested and tested positive in their hometowns.

Although the total inspection of 641 factory employees has been completed, concerns are growing as nth infection cases such as family members and acquaintances who have contacted them continue.

Five of the six confirmed cases in Daejeon that day were families who met an employee at the cricket factory during the Lunar New Year holidays. In Cheongdo, Gyeongsangbuk-do, three factory workers and two people met were confirmed, and in Daegu, Siheung, Gyeonggi, and Busan, families who had contacted factory employees were known to have received positive tests.

According to the quarantine authorities, 20 foreigners were included among the confirmed cases. Earlier, in Chungnam, a group infection of foreign workers occurred at a Thai food store in Cheonan and a broiler processing plant in Dangjin.

Chungnam Governor Yang Seung-jo said, “To prevent further group infection, we will ask the city and county to conduct a full investigation of foreign workers and residents.”
