As soon as I was nominated for mayor of Busan… Young-Chun Kim Bowing From His Head-Maeil Business Administration

When the former Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Kim Young-chun (photo) was elected as the ruling party candidate, the Busan Mayor’s re-election bracket was completed. In addition, candidate Kim, a member of the Democratic Party, expressed confidence, saying, “Kim Young-chun, who prepared for a month, will catch up with candidate Park Hyung-joon who prepared for a year.” In the Democratic Party’s Busan Mayoral Candidate Competition held on the 6th, Kim took the first place with 67.74% of the votes of the Rights Party (50%) and the Busan Citizens Electoral Corps (50%). Byun Seong-wan, the former mayor of Busan (25.12%) and Park In-young, the former chairman of the Busan City Council (7.14%), proved the popular opinion by a big gap.

Candidate Kim was elected with overwhelming support from the rights party members (66.23%) and the citizen electoral group (76.14%).

Candidate Kim mentioned the sexual harassment case of former Mayor Oh Geo-don in his acceptance speech on the day. “This election was held by the Democratic Party’s fault,” and said, “I apologize to the victims and citizens once again.” “The situation in Busan is too difficult to ignore the election as an unfavorable election for the Democratic Party,” he said. “I started the election with a feeling of vomiting blood and cutting bones,” he raised his voice. Candidate Kim entered politics in 1987, serving as secretary to the Unification Democratic Party President Kim Young-sam, and served as the Blue House political secretary in the YS government. Afterwards, he was part of the New Korea Party and the Grand National Party, but in 2003, he withdrew with Rep. Kim Bu-gyeom, Lee Boo-young, Lee Woo-jae, and Ahn Young-geun and participated in the founding of the Uri Party. Since the 19th general election, he has been running in his hometown of Busan. He joined the National Assembly in his 20s and served as Minister of Oceans and Fisheries in the Moon Jae-in administration. In the 21st general election, he ran for Jingap in Busan, but moved to the position of secretary general of the National Assembly when he was defeated.

In the opposition party, Candidate Hyung-joon Park set up an election countermeasure committee first and went to check. Rep. Ha Tae-kyung, who served as the head of the general headquarters, criticized the Democratic Party and Candidate Kim, saying, “Stop blaming the past and others.” Meanwhile, Democratic Party candidate Park Young-seon defeated candidate Jo Jung-hoon for the transition to the era over the unification of the Mayor of Seoul. After that, the candidate will be elected as a single candidate for the criminal passport after going through a contest with the Open Democratic Party candidate Kim Jin-ae.
