Writer Park Gye-ok of SBS TV drama’Masa Chosun’, who faced the unprecedented situation of the abolition of the work due to controversy over history distortion, finally apologized to the public.

On the 27th, writer Park issued a statement and said, “I sincerely apologize for causing deep concern to viewers over the past few days with poorly thoughtful writing.”

He said, “As a writer, I gave viewers anger and fatigue with an easy and inexperienced judgment even though I had to show a better story by mirroring my past mistakes.” He apologized, saying, “I am deeply reflecting on the point that I made easy judgments.”

In addition, he repeatedly apologized, saying, “I never intended to distort history, but as a result I will remember and not forget it with the heart that left a deep wound on the bones.”

From his previous work, Queen Iron Man, Park was controversial about distortion of history.

Before the airing of’Queen Iron Man’, controversy arose about the original work of the Chinese drama’Prince of the Prince’, and an ambassador referring to the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, a world-recorded heritage, was broadcast and criticized.

Following the criticism that Park used Chinese props and costumes even for’Chosun-gu Masa’, the controversy over history distortion was criticized that the setting of real characters such as Taejong (Gam Woo-seong), Yangnyeong Daegun, and Chungnyeong Daegun had a distance from actual history I was at the center of it.
