At the plenary session on the 25th, the National Assembly passed a 15 trillion won additional remedial budget (additional supplement) that includes the 4th disaster support fund related to the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).

This supplementary plan consists of 8.8 trillion won in emergency damage support for small business owners and the underprivileged class, 2.8 trillion won for emergency employment countermeasures, and 4.1 trillion won for quarantine measures such as vaccine purchase.

First of all, 1 million to 5 million won will be provided to small business owners and self-employed persons who have been damaged by Corona 19.

The range of support for industries with a large amount of damage, such as the travel industry and the performance industry, has been expanded. In the process of reviewing the supplementary bill, the amount of support for businesses whose average sales decreased by more than 60%, including the travel industry, increased from 2 million won by the government to 3 million won.

2.5 million won will be provided for businesses whose sales decline by more than 40%, including the performance industry.

1.15 million small business owners are exempted from 30-50% of their electricity bill for three months.

In addition, additional supplementary bills include emergency employment security support for special high school and freelancers, support for taxi drivers belonging to corporations, 700,000 won for subsidy for the marginalized working poor, 500,000 won for livelihood support for marginalized workers, and 500,000 won for income stabilization for business-registered street vendors.

The fourth disaster subsidy amounted to 20 trillion won, an increase of 1.2 trillion won from the previous government draft of 1.95 trillion won.

The ruling and opposition parties decided to cut 280 billion won in the supplementary government job project, while the remaining 1.16 trillion won will be financed by restructuring the spending of the existing budget.
