An arrest warrant was filed against an aunt couple accused of abusing and killing a 10-year-old female nephew.
According to the police on the 10th, the Yongin East Police Department in Gyeonggi Province applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A’s couple (in their 40s), who were charged with violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Child Abuse Crimes the previous day. Whether or not to arrest them is expected to be decided as early as this afternoon.
According to the police, Mr. A and Mrs. A, who had been caring for the dead Miss B for the last three months, said in a police investigation, “The child was hitting him for about two days because he couldn’t listen to and urinate well. I put it in and out of the water several times.” In this process, it is known that Ms. B stopped breathing and reportedly stopped the act only when her body dwindled.
The paramedics dispatched at 12:35 pm on the 8th moved to the hospital while performing CPR on Ms. B, who had a cardiac arrest, but died.
Hospital medical staff and paramedics found bruises on both body B and reported suspicion of child abuse to the police, and the police received a statement from Mr. A and his wife saying that they “have lightly hit the child several times” and abused them. He was arrested urgently for violating the Act on Special Cases concerning the punishment of crime. Mr. A and Mrs. A also confessed that they were abused using water during a police investigation.
The exact cause of death of Ms. B is expected to be confirmed two weeks after the detailed autopsy results are released. The police are investigating when the abuses of Mrs. A, such as the assault of Mrs. A against Miss B, began.
It is known that Ms. B has been living at the house of Mrs. A from late October to early November last year. It was investigated that the mother of A’s younger brother, Ms. B, had difficulty taking care of Ms. B due to moving problems and working life, and left it to Ms. A’s couple.
