A report from US investment bank Weedbush Securities reported that Apple is playing a’date game’ with EV partners ahead of the official announcement of the Apple Car partnership.

The US IT media Apple Insider quoted a report from Daniel Ives, an analyst at Wedbush Securities on the 15th (local time), and reported that the recent breakdown in negotiations between Apple and automakers is part of Apple’s selection of electric vehicle partners.

Following the news of the suspension of the’Apple car negotiations’ between Apple and Hyundai Motor Company earlier this month, Japanese automaker Nissan recently announced that “it is not going to discuss with Apple.”

However, Daniel Ives said rumors about the Apple car debate is another proof that Apple is playing an electric car dating game, and that it is at least 85% likely that Apple will officially announce a strategic electric car partnership or collaboration within the next three to six months. He repeated his predictions.

“We firmly believe that Apple will announce an electric vehicle partnership that will lay the foundation for entering the electric vehicle market in 2021,” he said. “Right now is the right time for Apple to enter this market,” he said due to the green energy policy going forward.

He added that cooperation with incumbent companies such as Hyundai Motor Company, Tesla, Ford, Nio and Volkswagen would be a “golden partnership for the next decade.”

He pointed out that Hyundai and Volkswagen are ideal partners for Apple Cars because they have modular EV platforms that can form the framework of Apple’s self-driving cars. In the case of Hyundai, the E-GMP platform, Volkswagen has a modular electric drive matrix.

“Apple with good partners will be the mainstay of the electric vehicle industry, and if Apple cars can put cars on the road by 2024, it could hamper Tesla, GM and Ford’s market share,” said Wedbush.
