The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announces the’Renewable Energy Supply Support Project’ and receives applications from the 5th.

In the supply support project, when the owner of a house or building installs new and renewable energy facilities such as solar power and geothermal heat for the purpose of self-consumption, part of the installation cost is provided.

The scale of the business is 311.2 billion won, an increase of 12% (33 billion won) compared to 2020, reflecting the growing demand for new and renewable energy installations.

In detail, housing and building support totaled 143.5 billion won. The housing/building support project covers part of the installation cost when installing new and renewable energy facilities for self-consumption in detached/community houses, shopping centers, factories, etc.

Starting this year, we have increased the capacity for solar power subsidies in buildings from 50kW to 200kW in consideration of the high desired installation capacity for factories and distribution warehouses.

To promote the commercialization of products developed as a national R&D (research project), support for facilities to which new technologies such as integrated building solar power (BIPV) and other new technologies were applied was expanded.

167.7 billion won will be provided for convergence support and regional support. Convergence Support supports installation costs for projects that converge two or more types of renewable energy sources such as solar, solar, and geothermal energy for the target of complex support such as housing, shopping malls, and public institutions.

Local support is supported when installing new and renewable energy facilities in buildings and facilities owned or managed by local governments, and social welfare facilities.

In particular, reflecting the growing demand for participation in the Green New Deal in the region, the budget for convergence support in 2021 increased by about 40% compared to the previous year’s budget and expanded to 157.7 billion won.

Meanwhile, in the case of convergence support projects and regional support projects, it is planned to select the local government to perform the project after receiving applications for the project for next year, and it will be finally selected in September of this year through public evaluation and general evaluation.

In this competition, to expand the supply of new and renewable energy facilities to local public facilities and social welfare facilities, such as community centers and town halls, the proportion of local government spending will be increased, and the rate of implementation of mandatory installation of new and renewable energy by local governments will be increased. It has been improved to support the excess installation capacity from the design stage.

In addition, in consideration of the purpose of the convergence support project, the system was reorganized to expand the supply of various new and renewable energy sources, such as granting additional points when supplying energy sources other than solar power over a certain ratio, such as solar heat and geothermal heat.

The Ministry of Industry said that through this year’s supply support project, the supply of new and renewable energy facilities of a total of 295MW will be expanded by utilizing idle spaces such as building rooftops and parking lots, resulting in an annual reduction of 58 billion won in electricity bills and an annual reduction of 170,000 tons of carbon dioxide.

The Korea Energy Agency, which is the carrying out of this project, operates a consumer damage call center to pretend to be a government project related to the installation of solar power facilities and to prevent damage to consumers, and information on participating companies can be found on the Korea Corporation’s Green Home website.
