AWS started out as Amazon’s cloud business and then expanded into an independent subsidiary. Andy Jash has been AWS CEO since 2016.
When AWS was launched in 2006, it focused primarily on providing cloud storage and compute services to small and medium-sized technology companies. However, as the business expanded, many companies became dependent on Amazon for computing resources.
In the process, Andy Jassy showed excellent ability to attract a wide range of companies as customers, from start-ups to the world’s largest company, Apple.
Andy Jesse has also attracted organizations such as the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Democratic National Committee, as AWS customers. Companies like Pinterest, Slack, and Rift are also using AWS systems.
Thanks to these achievements, Amazon is reigning as an absolute leader in the cloud market.
According to Synergy Research, Amazon occupies 33% of the global cloud market by mid-2020. Microsoft (MS) is followed by 18%, followed by Google with 9%.
