Netmarble, a game company, decided to increase the annual salary of all employees by 8 million won.
According to a Netmarble official on the 10th, Netmarble announced through an in-house announcement that it would increase the annual salary of all employees by 8 million won. In addition, the annual salary for new employees was also increased. Accordingly, the annual salary for new Netmarble employees will be raised to 50 million won for the developer and 45 million won for the non-development worker. This impression applies to all employees of Netmarble Company.
Prior to Netmarble, Nexon also raised the annual salary of its employees in 2021 by 8 million won on the 1st, and significantly increased the annual salary for new employees to 50 million won for the developer and 45 million won for the non-development worker. Accordingly, it is interpreted that Netmarble also pulled out the same amount of starting salary and salary increase cards as Nexon in order to secure excellent talent.
According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the average annual salary of new white-collar workers with college graduates in large companies with 500 or more employees in 2020 is 3,347 million won. Accordingly, both Nexon and Netmarble will have the highest salary tables in Korea. In addition, as Nexon and Netmarble are raising their employees’ salaries, it is expected to have a considerable impact on the game industry’s job market.
On the other hand, Netmarble is moving to the new Guro building’G Tower (G Tower)’ in February. The relocation procedure is scheduled to be completed before March 1, the anniversary of Netmarble’s founding.
