Nationalist Party candidate Ahn Cheol-soo, who was a candidate for pan-optics in the Seoul Mayor’s by-election, emphasized that he is a suitable candidate for unifying opposition by referring to the issue of Naegok-dong of candidate Oh Se-hoon.

On the morning of the 22nd, Candidate Ahn held a press conference after the Supreme Council’s meeting at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, and said, “If the opposition camps return to their past and do not change and innovate after winning the Seoul Mayor’s election, the Seoul Mayor’s election will be won and the presidential election will be defeated. “The problem of Naegok-dong is spreading,” he said.

Regarding the suspicion of Oh’s Naegok-dong, he warned, “If more new facts are revealed and someone testifies to the incident at the time, the opposition candidate may hold an election with resignation.” This means that candidate Oh is unified, and if candidate Oh resigns due to this problem, the worst outcome could be.

Candidate Ahn described himself as “the candidate with no problems that Democratic Party candidate Park Young-sun fears the most.” He said, “A candidate who has always won even when opposition rights are at a disadvantage since last December, a candidate who will not be held back by various problems of municipal administration for the past five years, a candidate who is not condemned and excused throughout the election, but is able to investigate the other party throughout the election.” He added and appealed for support.

In addition, Candidate Ahn said, “Either (People’s Power Symbol) No. 2 or (People’s Party) No. 4, both are only larger No. 2,” he said. “After the election, the larger No. 2 should go on the path of regime change. Yes, we are a member of the family in this by-election, and we are comrades who should take part in the next year’s presidential campaign,” he urged for cooperation.
