Ahn Byung-hoon took the lead on the first day of the American Professional Golf (PGA) Tour Tournament, where he participated for the first time this year.

On the 22nd, Ahn Byeong-hoon caught 7 birdies without seeing and hit 7 under par 65 in the first round of the PGA Tour American Express held at the PGA West Nicklaus Tournament Course (NT, par 72, 7,152 yards) in La Quinta, California, USA.

Ahn Byung-hoon is chasing alone leader Brandon Hae-gi (USA) by one stroke. Haegi hit an 8 under par 64 on the Nicklaus Tournament Course.

Haegi competed as a substitute for world ranking second-ranked Yon Lam (Spain), who abstained from injury due to injury ahead of the tournament, and then took the lead with a single round minimum.

The tournament will be held in two separate courses at the PGA West. Nicklaus Tournament Course and Stadium Course (par 72, 7,113 yards).

Ahn Byung-hoon, who rebounded successfully, said, “I hit it without thinking about the score at all. I thought it was part of the overall round, but it ended with a 7-under par.”

On the stadium course, Siwoo Kim tied 1 Eagle and 4 birdies to record 6 under par 66, and is tied for third place with Martin Laird (Scotland) and Max Houma (USA).

Lim Sung-jae was tied for 15th place with Lee Gyeong-hoon. Both Lim Seong-jae and Lee Kyung-hoon recorded 4 under par 68 strokes by combining 5 birdies and 1 bogie in the Nicklaus tournament course.

Kim Joo-hyung, the prospect of Korea Professional Golf (KPGA), who was invited by a sponsor, reduced three strokes on the Nicklaus Tournament Course and took a tie for 39th place.

Roh Seung-yeol hit a 2nd over par on the Nicklaus Tournament Course, and Kang Seung-Hoon hit a 5 over par on the Stadium Course, lagging behind at 132th and 147th respectively.

The organizer of the event, Phil Miculson (USA), tied for 132nd place with a 2nd over par, and Kevin Na (USA), who won the Sony Open last week, slumped to 143rd place with a 3rd overs par.
