A mutant virus was confirmed in a sample of A, a male in her 80s residing in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, who was transferred to a hospital with cardiac arrest after entering the country from the UK.
However, the analysis results have not been published so far as to whether the three family members who were confirmed with Mr. A were infected with the mutant virus.
According to the quarantine authorities on the 30th, a mutant virus infection was confirmed in a sample of Mr. A, who was evacuated to a hospital in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, and died after death on the 26th.
After returning from England on the 13th of last month, Mr. A, who was usually suffering from heart disease, suffered a cardiac arrest and was transferred to the emergency room of the Health Insurance Corporation Ilsan Hospital, and died after about 40 minutes, and was later diagnosed with Corona 19 in a diagnostic test.
Three more family members living together were also tested positive the next day.
Although the results of the analysis of whether the virus has been infected with the mutant virus has not been released for three members of Mr. A and his family, there is a high possibility that it has spread between families. This is because all of my family members came from England and have lived together after returning home. Currently, they are being transferred to a hospital in Goyang-si for treatment.
In particular, B, one of the family members, came out negative at the entrance and two diagnostic tests on the 8th of last month before Mr. A, and self-isolation ended and was known to have engaged in outside activities, increasing anxiety in the community.
In fact, it was confirmed that Mr. B visited a hospital and a beauty salon in Ilsan-dong-gu on the 23rd of this month, four days before the diagnosis. On the afternoon of the 24th, the day before the Christmas holiday, it was reported that they had been shopping alone at a mart near their home for about 30 minutes wearing a mask. It is said that on the 25th of Christmas, he stayed at home all day. On the 26th, it was found that Mr. A suddenly collapsed and called an ambulance and moved to Ilsan Hospital together.

Accordingly, Goyang City and the quarantine authorities classified three contacts at a hospital in Ilsan-dong-gu visited by Mr. B as subjects of active monitoring, and one contact with a beauty salon is self-quarantined.
Seven people, including the residents and paramedics who supported Mr. A after falling in the hallway, are also classified as close contacts and are in self-quarantine.
All 11 of these close contact and active monitoring subjects were, fortunately, negative in the first Corona 19 test, and the second test is currently in progress.
Goyang City designated and managed a public official in charge of one-on-one self-isolation for close contacts, and took measures to ensure self-isolation. The four subjects of active monitoring were asked to comply with personal quarantine rules equivalent to self-isolation and decided to monitor them every day.
An official from Goyang-si said, “There has not been a positive reaction from contacts, etc. until now,” and “I will do my best to closely observe close contacts and active surveillance targets and strictly follow the quarantine guidelines.”
