The Russian Navy unveiled a nuclear submarine drill in the Arctic Ocean on the 26th.

According to the Rianovosti news agency, Naval Commander Nikolai Yevmenov told President Vladimir Putin on the 26th (local time), “For the first time in the history of the Navy, three nuclear submarines were able to sleep while breaking the 1.5m-thick ice at a set time in a sea area within a radius of 300m. It has risen upward,” he reported.

The video released by the Ministry of Defense of Russia on that day includes the appearance of a black submarine rising from ice breaking, a fighter jet flying through the poles and receiving aerial refueling, and the operation of a soldier moving on a snowmobile armed with a rifle.

On this day, the training was conducted in harsh weather conditions of -25 to 30 degrees Celsius with a strong wind of 30 meters per second. About 600 soldiers and civilians participated in the training. In addition, 200 types of weapons and military equipment, including fighters, were put in to check the ability to perform operations in the polar regions.
