Chae Hyeon-guk, the chairman of Hyoam Academy, who was called the’Adult of Our Time’, passed away from his old age at his home in Seoul around 5 pm on the 2nd. Age 86.
The deceased, who was admitted to the hospital due to deteriorating health and was discharged from the hospital on the 1st, died while sleeping at home.
An official at Hyoam High School in Yangsan, Gyeongsangnam-do said, “Sometimes he stopped by school, but he was admitted to the hospital in early February due to shortness of breath and gradually recovered and was discharged on the 1st.”
The deceased from Daegu graduated from the Department of Philosophy at Seoul National University. The deceased ran the’Heungkuk Coal Mine’ in Samcheok, Gangwon-do, run by his father (Chae Gi-yeop), and was once rejected to the point that it ranked second in the country in terms of income tax payments.
The deceased is known to have helped or provided funding for democratization movement personnel, journalists, and cultural artists in the 1970s and 1980s.
In 1973, Chairman Chae Hyeon-guk distributed all of his property and organized the business, and provided shelter to democratic people who were persecuted during the Park Jeong-hee and Chun Doo-hwan regimes and provided funding for their activities.
In 1988, the deceased was the chairman of Hyoam Academy, which runs Yangsan Hyoam High School and Gaeun Middle School.
Chairman Chae Hyeon-guk said, “Look carefully that the old people are that shape. Never look at the elderly generation”, “Property will be the world. It’s only that I took this world for a while and did a good job. Then I have to share it with the world. , It’s not something to pass on to the child.”
Vinso was set up in Special No. 1 on the 3rd floor of the funeral hall of Seoul National University Hospital, and the death will be held on the 5th.
