Shortly after the airing, the sbs drama’Choseongu Masa’, which was criticized as a history distortion, comes to an end.

The broadcaster decided to cancel the broadcast in less than a week.

This is because the controversy over whether this drama is being mobilized in China’s so-called’Cultural Northeast Fair’ spreads, and the backlash from viewers was strong.

SBS Mon-Tue Drama’Chosun Gumasa’ with the content of fighting a living corpse in the background of the Joseon dynasty.

Chungnyeongdaegun, who later became King Sejong, served Chinese food such as mooncakes and silkworms to the Western Kuma priest, and the shaman appeared in Chinese-style costumes.

The contents of Taejong’s slaughter of the people due to hallucinations, and the descriptions of Yangnyeong and Chungnyeongdaegun were also far from historical facts.

Viewers objected that it was a distortion of history that was outside the scope of cultural imagination.

It has spread to suspicion that it is a drama of the’Cultural Northeast Fair’-style drama that China intends to incorporate Korean culture into its own culture.

It is said that the author of’Chosun Gumasa’ caricatures the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty in the previous drama, and furthermore, he signed a writing contract with a Korean-Chinese joint venture.

“In China, Hanbok is also his own, and Kimchi is his own. This is a new cultural process. In this situation, if the distorted part of the history is shown to overseas viewers, it is really wrong.”

Viewers petitioned the public to stop the airing, shared a list of companies advertised in’Chosun-gu Massa’, and pushed directly against advertisers.

Eventually, advertisers withdrew one after another, and SBS also announced that it would abolish Chosun Gumasa.

“As the recently released (Chinese Cultural Fair) contents have accumulated a little, I think there has been a part in this situation.”

SBS explained that most of the drama’s broadcasting rights have already been paid in advance, and the production company has finished filming about 80%, but due to heavy responsibility, it has decided to cancel the broadcast.

The abolition of the Joseon Dynasty was recorded as the first case in which viewers quit the drama, and it became an opportunity to once again confirm the power of viewers in the digital age.
