Shinsegae’Landers’ trademark application application completed
Team color and emblem seem to be delayed due to undecided
For the time being,’single punishment gentleman’ is inevitable
Shinsegae Group will reveal the new team name of the baseball team this time. A Shinsegae official said on the 4th, “As Shinsegae Vice Chairman Jeong Yong-jin said through the Club House, the name of the baseball team will be revealed during this week.”
Baseball fans pick’SSG Landers’ as a leading club name. Landers can mean’Incheon Landing Operation’ and’People who get off at the airport’ with the word landers.
Shinsegae (004170)Has even applied for a trademark right for’Landers’ last month. An official from Shinsegae said, “It is correct that you have applied for an application,” and said, “It is one of the candidates for the names of various clubs.”
It is said that the team name is outlined to some extent, but the team color or emblem has not been confirmed. In this regard, Vice Chairman Chung also revealed his plan to not use E-Mart’s yellow color, but to save Shinsegae’s red color. Red is also the team color of SK Wyverns acquired by Shinsegae.
As the team color confirmation is delayed, the uniform design is also sluggish. The Shinsegae Baseball Team is planning to complete the schedule by wearing the white’Incheon’ uniform worn by Choo Shin-soo when he returned to Korea until the demonstration game.
Dynafit, a uniform sponsor, is currently only producing the white version of the Incheon uniform. It is reported that there is no production plan for the gray version, which is often used as the color of the away uniform.
Accordingly, the Shinsegae Baseball Team will wear a white Incheon uniform and play in both practice and demonstration games away. From the standpoint of the team against Shinsegae, there is a situation in which they cannot wear their home uniform during the home game. In response, a Shinsegae official said, “At the club level, we will coordinate in a way that seeks understanding from other clubs.”
Meanwhile, the Fair Trade Commission approved Shinsegae’s acquisition of shares of SK Wyverns baseball team the day before. Shinsegae already owns a portion (14.5%) of another professional baseball team, Samsung Lions, so it has 2 out of 10 domestic professional baseball teams.
