As a series of incidents in which hate letters aimed at Asians were delivered in the United States, police began investigating.

Amid growing awareness of violent crimes targeting Asian seniors and women, a criminal act of indiscriminately sending anonymous hate letters to Asian-owned stores and Asian students has emerged.

Riverside police in California, USA, recently launched an investigation into the Asian hate letter case, local broadcaster NBC4 reported on the 26th (local time).

According to police, an anonymous hate letter was delivered to a nail shop in Riverside on the 21st.

The letter contained racist slurs and insults that Asians “have pancake faces and eat cockroaches, dogs, cats, monkey brains. Smelly and disgusting.”

The person who sent the hate letter anonymously asked the nail shop owner to display his letter in the store for customers and employees to see.

“This letter is disgusting and unacceptable,” said Ryan Railsback, Riverside Police Public Affairs Officer, and is tracking the sender.

A similar letter was also delivered to an Asian nail shop in San Bernardino County, Hillsburg, California.

Hate messages were sent online against Asian high school students in Placer County, California, in Loklin, the local newspaper Sacramentoby reported.

The woman received an anonymous letter on the day of her husband’s funeral, and the letter contained a threat saying, “One less Asian. Pack up and return to your country.”

Benjamin Snodgrass, fire chief of Bentonville, quarreled and assaulted an Asian man. He was charged with third-degree assault in this case and withdrew from the fire chief.

The victim and his attorney urged him to apply the hate crime charge.
